Machan Indian | Eltham

We love Machan Indian Restaurant.

The Gorgeous Masala Dosa

We’ve been eating their delicious food since 2004 (not long after the current owners took over) and have no plans to stop! An absolutely lovely family, who treat you like a friend – with obliging smiles and wonderful conversation – Machan is a must-do if you’re ever in Eltham and get a hunger pang!

Paneer Makhani – Beef Madras

We dropped in for a Sunday lunch where we tried their Masala Dosa (one of our all-time favourite Indian munchers!) – which exceeded expectations! Lovely potato filling, crispy crepe, spicy sambal and coconut chutney! I think we could’ve just sat there and eaten 10 of those (well, perhaps my eyes are bigger than my stomach, but I’d give it a shot!)

Garlic Naan

We ordered our all time faves from Machan …. Shawn, the Beef Madras which always (always, always!!) has the most tender pieces of meat swimming in a rich, peppery curry sauce.  I got my ‘I-can’t-pick-anything-else-on-the-menu-because-I-love-you-too-much” dish of Paneer Makhani.  Beautiful – chunks of paneer cheese that I like to mash up into little bits and swirl them around in that rich creamy tomato sauce…yum. I’m getting hungry just thinking of it!

Of course, we ordered Rice and Garlic Naans – and there was nothing left of our plates except reflections of smiles on our faces!

If you’re after a consistently scrumptious meal served by incredibly lovely people…please go to Machan. Thank me later 🙂
