L’Espresso | Ballarat

Urbanspoonites were right, this is definitely the hot spot with the locals! Reminded me of a Melbourne-type cafe, with quirky surrounds and squashy seating arrangements.

Eggs florentine was lovely – poached perfectly and covered in a velvety hollandaise – totally hit the mark for me, but I suppose at $19.90 (that includes the extra $3 for a 1/2 grilled tomato) I expected it would! 🙂 Shawn’s Parmesan scrambled eggs with smoked bacon was nice, but the salty flavor got a bit much after the first few bites. The freshly squeezed orange juice was refreshing, but the real star was the coffee!

Rich, smooth and just strong enough to cut through the frothy milk…with yummy hidden chocolate notes rising through each sip. Heavenly!!  If you love a good coffee, and don’t mind rubbing elbows with other patrons, then make a pit stop at L’Espresso – just the cup of coffee will make it worth it!! 🙂
